Dear Friends,

I got terribly emotional about the tragic events that happenned the last few weeks. It was a mixture of anger and sadness, and in the back of my mind, I wish there is something I could do to share the pain and the anguish of the victims' families and friends.I wish I could show how proud I am to live here and how much I value the freedom I enjoy.I wish there's more I could do besides flying the American flag in front of my house.

I continue to work on our website, and keep pestering everyone about it, about the photos, about registration, about articles and stories.I know our little website is pretty trivial right now.Yet I want to finish the job I set out to do and to make it look nice.If something is worth doing, it's worth doing well.

I light a candle and quietly say a little prayer...

Dear AFS Friends,

The theme for the website is In Touch, for even though we are scattered all over the world and many years have past, we strive to stay in touch in an effort to keep the AFS spirits alive and to preserve the memories of our small family.

The featured front page photo this month is summer, for every of those past summers, when the bright red and orange Phuong flowers bloomed spectacularly along the avenues around our schools, a group of wide-eyed 17-year-old kids spread their wings and embarked on an adventure that would last a life time.

The same summer would also see those who had gone before returned, bringing tales of friendship, and working tirelessly to keep the AFS flame burning strong.

Please share with us the latest news of yourself and your family, your thoughts and inspirations, your stories and anecdotes, your old and new photographs, and information of other long lost friends. Your active participation will make this site grow.

Until we meet again, keep well, do good work, and stay in touch.

Phi Vang (69-70)
